At Island Slipper, we strive to use materials and production techniques that are greener and healthier because we care about our health, our islands, and our Earth.

For this collaboration, we teamed up with Matuse and Lava Rubber to make a sustainable slipper.

Matuse is a sustainable wetsuit maker that uses an eco-friendly premium material named Geoprene. Geoprene is made of Japanese limestone rubber, an alternative to oil-based neoprene.

Lava Rubber is a brand dedicated to giving second life to materials that would otherwise end up in landfills. Specializing in recycling old wetsuits, Lava Rubber transforms discarded neoprene and other wetsuit materials into durable, eco-friendly rubber products.

This new product features Lava Rubber's recycled sheets as the insole. Within these sheets are pieces of old wetsuits collected from Matuse. This is paired with Island Slipper's polyurethane Mokulua outsole and durable nylon straps.

This collaboration delivers the ultimate trifecta of upcycling, craftsmanship, and quality.
